Angela specialises in educational publishing, digital learning and content that helps people understand complex ideas. In September 2026, she gained a Professional Diploma in Digital Learning, specialising in Instructional Design, from the Digital Learning Institute. This was graded at Distinction level. She is now a Certified Digital Learning Professional (CDLP).
Angela works with organisations including Save My Exams, where she has written and edited hundreds of educational resources, including SEO articles, revision notes, exam questions and model answers. She also spent time as a Senior Content Creator in Religious Studies, developing curriculum-aligned resources and assessment materials for GCSE and IGCSE students.
Alongside her writing work, Angela is an experienced editor and proofreader with professional qualifications in copywriting, copyediting and proofreading. She regularly reviews educational and digital content for accuracy, clarity, consistency and house style, and has led training on editorial workflows and content production.
Angela has also worked as a staff writer for tech website Make Use Of, specialising in articles on technology and wellness. Her writing has appeared in a wide range publications including Reader's Digest, The Evening Standard, Stylist, Medicinal Media, and Expert Reviews. As a ghostwriter for Storyterrace, she has helped people to bring their fascinating life stories to publication, including an Amazon bestseller.
In her spare time, Angela writes children's fiction and is a graduate of the Golden Egg Academy. Her children's novel was long-listed for the Write Mentor Novel in Development Award 2022, the Bath Children's Novel Award in 2024 and Mslexia's Children's & YA Novel Competition 2024.
Angela has also contributed lyrics to her singer-songwriter brother John Canning Yates' work. Together, they were honoured by esteemed author Jeff Young, who used an excerpt from their song Ghost Light as the epigraph for his latest book, the award-winning Wild Twin.
Away from the keyboard, Angela loves nature and wildlife photography, with work published in magazines such as Canon EOS Magazine, New Nature and British Wildlife. When she's not reading and writing, Angela loves music and sports and is a season ticket holder at Coventry City FC. She is happiest when walking at the coast with her Cavapoo Teddy.
